CABE chapter leaders, region representatives or individual nominator (must be a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gocabe.org\/dev\/index.php\/cabe_membership\/\">CABE member<\/a>) has the opportunity to nominate individuals for a teachership award. Carlos Penichet\u2019s untimely death ended the life of a young compassionate and caring individual. In 2008, Alma Flor Ada\u2019s Family along with F. Songwriter and storyteller, Isabel&#8217;s goal is to provide children the key to interpreting the world in a fun, challenging and affirming way. ZAIDA MCCALL-PEREZ TEACHERSHIP AWARD<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b054d63 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b054d63\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>As an educator for over 50 years, Zaida was a tireless advocate for immigrant education and was currently a tenured professor in the Department of Education in the graduate teacher credential program at Holy Names University in Oakland until her passing. Chuck served on many local, county and state educational committees. Through his work and vision, he influenced many educators and state legislators. Chuck Acosta was one of the co-founders of the California Association for Bilingual Education (CABE). Without his vision, tenacity and true belief in the power of bilingual education, CABE would not exist today.
