CABE 2023 BILINGUAL TEACHERSHIP AWARDS (SCHOLARSHIPS)
CABE encourages members who are enrolled in a college or university and have declared a major leading to a bilingual teaching credential to apply for a Teachership Award. The CABE 2023 Bilingual Teachership Awards (Scholarships) are an endowment fund established by CABE to award $2,000 scholarships to college and university students seeking a teaching career and pursuing a bilingual teaching credential. CABE chapter leaders, regional representatives, and individual nominators (must be current CABE members) may nominate college and university students for teachership awards. Teachership recipients will be recognized and presented with scholarships at the CABE 2023 Annual Conference.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA – CANDIDATES MUST
o Be a resident of California
o Be a resident of California
o Be enrolled in a bilingual authorization/credential program
o Be enrolled in a college/university with a declared major leading to a bilingual teachership credential/authorization (BILA, elementary/secondary) and/or have completed a minimum of 15 college credits and/or be enrolled in a bilingual teachership preparation program (must provide transcripts)
OR
o Be a current credentialed teacher working in the classroom and returning to earn a bilingual teacher authorization (BILA)
NOMINATION DOCUMENTS/MATERIALS
- A letter of recommendation from a current professional reference (i.e., teacher, program coordinator, or current supervisor)
- A high-resolution (300 ppi or greater) photo of the applicant (head and shoulders)
- A teachership application must be submitted by December 14, 2022. Incomplete applications or missing documents will not be considered, and non-verifiable information will result in the disqualification of the applicant.
DATES TO REMEMBER
- Teachership applications must be submitted by December 14, 2022.
- Winners will be notified on or after February 24, 2023.
- Teachership awards will be presented during the CABE Awards Luncheon on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the CABE 2023 Annual Conference in Long Beach, CA.
