CABE BACK TO SCHOOL ELD WORKSHOP SERIES 2021

This CABE Back to School ELD workshop series is designed just for you, your school site, or your entire district! Gain quality professional development that aims to bring equity to English Learners during distance learning, hybrid educational settings, and face-to-face instruction. Participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the series.

Day 1: Launching into Designated ELD – Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 3:30-5:30 PM PST
The focus of this session will be on designing Designated ELD instruction grounded in the CA ELD standards in order to enhance the content taught during Integrated ELD while ensuring that English Learners are actively engaged in grade-level core content instruction and academic language development.

Day 2: Promising Practices for Newcomers – Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 3:30-5:30 PM PST
The focus of this session will be on discovering the assets that newcomer students bring to the classroom along with strategies to support language acquisition as it connects to grade-level content standards.

Day 3: High Impact, Low Prep LTEL Strategies – Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 3:30-5:30 PM PST
The focus of this session will be on learning high-impact low prep strategies to support long-term English learners with mastering grade-level content standards while increasing academic language development in the four language domains.

The CABE Back to School ELD Workshop Series is presented in a Live Virtual Session
